Ms. Jackie Ryan has worked as an equine veterinary nurse for 18 years, at home in Ireland, as well as in Germany, New Zealand, Australia and now here in Qatar. She has always had a passion for animals and for nursing sick animals back to health. From an early age, she worked as a groom in Showjumping and Eventing yards, working with horses that performed at the highest level of competition.
She began her career at the Troytown Equine Hospital, Ireland, including 3 years as Head Foal ICU nurse. Following a stint in Germany and New Zealand, she worked for 3.5 years at the Satur Veterinary Clinic, Australia and then at one of Australia’s most famous and successful thoroughbred stud farms, the Arrowfield Stud.
On returning to Ireland, Ms. Ryan specialized as a Surgery Nurse at the Fethard Equine Hospital in Tipperary, while assisting in all day-to-day patient care. Her next move was to University College Dublin Veterinary Hospital, working as a general equine and farm animal nurse, where she also taught and assisted student vets and nurses.
She joined EVMC in October 2018 as a veterinary nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys running and sampling all Qatar has to offer.
